In sweet, sweet Suriname
Election time is party time
When politicians for once
Come to the neighborhoods
Just for the sake of our votes
To give their hot performance
Cracking jokes about each other
Making same old promises
And we the people will cheer
Laugh our weary heads off
Forget our problems for now
Yes, politicians in Suriname
Like stand-up comedians they are
