A Wise Man (For Nelson Mandela)
‘A wise man knows
How to get more good
Out of his enemies
Than a fool, from his friends’
Somebody once said
And a wise man you were,
Mister Mandela
Twenty seven years
Of suffering and humiliation
Under the inhumanity
Of the Apartheid system
Could not break you
Rob you from your soul
