Writing Poetry is Torture
Writing poetry is not work
It’s pure torture
However, by experience
Not always a negative thing
An idea is put in your head
Even in the middle of night
To work it out into a poem
You will be given a first line
If you are lucky, that is
A lamp is put in your face
No going back to sleep
As the torture continues
Until you finally admit
