Pneumonia
Antalya, Turkey
I wake up soaking
In the headlock of a demon
Instinctively I make a right turn
Into the arms of my sleeping girlfriend
The headlock loosens
With a grim promise of return
On the return flight home
I feel red hot iron hooks being beaten
Into my neck and shoulders
My poor, glorious body
Has survived a murderous attack
By the hotel room air conditioning
