A New Sense of Belonging
Ever since we married
Into the happy family
Of Caribbean nations
There is a new sense
Of belonging in the air
Floating like steel music
We are no longer
An unwanted stepchild
The dowry has been paid
A rare and precious bond
Of multicultural love
Sealed with the blood
Of our ancestors
