How to become a Poet
I was reading an article
About becoming a poet in nine steps
That had me laughing out loud
Not out of arrogance
But a kind of recognition
Like an eagle floating in the sky
Looking down on a staircase to heaven
That halfway leads nowhere
You have to learn to overcome your fear
For life and death, spend forty years
In solitary confinement in the dessert
Ready to criticize God and devil
Found within yourself
