This is Joy from Sierra Leone

One of my beloved Muses

Hard-working single mother

Of a teenager, oh yes

Beautiful, inspiring and smart

She caters to my weak spot

Like a good African woman would

By sending me her picture

To still my writing hunger

Ain’t she something?

Please don’t try this at home

Only a crazy poet like me

Has this many angels up his sleeve
