Why We Take Each Other Down
After they enslaved us
Stole our riches and our knowledge
They forced their God upon us
Cutting us off from our spirituality
Making us hate everything
That we represent
Our forefathers, our cultural pride
Our African heritage
They even took away our identity
And self-worth
That’s why we are lost
We don’t trust, we don’t love
We take each other down all the time
