The Surinamese Birdman
The Surinamese birdman
Loves his singing bird more
Than he loves his woman
He is loyal to his caged friend
Takes him everywhere he goes
While the spouse stays at home
For the admiration and envy
Of other birdmen he lives
While his feathered friend
On Sunday mornings
Wins him singing contests
Beating all the other birds
Earning him a lot of respect
