Mothers from Appalachia ~ (The USA)
Oh, mothers from Appalachia
Populating its rolling wooded hills
With your numerous offspring
Your endless struggle for life
Made you strong and resourceful
In the middle of such poor choices
Like alcoholism and joblessness
Or slaving in the coal mines
Yet you still take care of them all
Especially the ones who gave up
Forging a strong family bond
Oh, you women with a big heart
Breaking a chicken’s neck with a shake
