   I totally understand where you are coming from in terms of colonization, oppression etc. Is there room for honouring of the lessons the colonials brought? I always find I heal more quickly when I value the gifts that people who have hurt me brought. It’s not easy when its been hundreds of years of oppression, but we do heal more quickly when we see the divinity in all of life’s events, and the anger and resentment goes away. Thank you for your thoughts once again.

      Yes, there is plenty of room for friendship with the Dutch people. It’s their neocolonial style of government that we have problems with. We don’t hate them in spite of our history, we just want them to back off and allow us some space to develop on our own. Thanks, Yaz! 🙂

         It’s amazing isn’t it how much of what we do on a day to day basis is related to what has happened back into years that we can scarcely count. The echoes of actions past resound; I wonder what noise our own actions now will leave into the future.

   I love the truth that you hint at – none of us need prove our dignity – it is inherent, a birthright. To claim it, we must live like our life counts for something, because it does!
