A flash of God
I’m home, watching tv
When out the window
For an instance I glance
At a particular shade of tree
And an awareness so strange
Promptly takes hold of me
Like I’m a part of it
Sucked in, right at the heart
Of this enlightened green
From the kitchen to be sure
On different a tree I behold
The spirit still lingering on
Watching tv, after a while
I dare look again, only to find
Just some tree tops this time
Sometimes one’s antenna
Accidentally homes in
On a distant frequency
A flash of God?
Certainly not the first time
God is calling from a bush
